NSDC partners with California State University to offer 200+ free courses

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has collaborated with California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) to present more than 200 complimentary courses for skill enthusiasts in India. This partnership will also entail the integration of CSULB’s platforms – Skills Commons and MERLOT – with eSkillIndia.org, fostering e-learning among the youth in the nation.

Initially, California State University Long Beach and eSkillIndia will introduce courses spanning various sectors, including healthcare, management, information technology, finance, and employability skills. There will be a particular emphasis on courses designed for the upskilling of trainers. The course durations will range from two to 30 hours, collectively offering 900 hours of digital content, as per information from NSDC.

eSkillIndia, NSDC’s digital skilling initiative, presently hosts over 825 digital courses from its partners, and an additional 4,000 courses are accessible through affiliate channels across diverse sectors and languages.

Dr. Manish Kumar, MD & CEO of NSDC, emphasized the role of online learning in facilitating digital transformation, enabling youth to tap into both existing and emerging opportunities. Dr. Gerard L Hanley, Executive Director of California State University (SkillsCommons and MERLOT), highlighted the mission’s core focus on partnering with NSDC’s eSkill India to enhance workforce skills for 21st-century employment. The collaboration aims to provide free and accessible industry-centered training materials, promoting online learning for all and contributing to overall well-being.
