IIT Bombay is set to offer a complimentary online course on Android app development through the SWAYAM platform. Applications for the course, guided by Professor Kannan M Moudgalya of IIT-Bombay, are now open, and the course is free for all students.
The Android app development program will instruct participants using Kotlin, an open-source programming language tailored for Android app creation. Geared towards both undergraduate and postgraduate students, the course spans eight weeks and encompasses 10 audio-video spoken tutorials.
To register for the IIT Bombay Android development course, interested individuals can follow these steps:
1. Visit the SWAYAM portal’s official website: onlinecourses.swayam2.ac.in
2. Click on the “Login/register” tab located in the top right corner.
3. Log in using your SWAYAM account through Facebook, Google, Microsoft, or SWAYAM.
4. If the aforementioned accounts are unavailable, click on “sign up” and provide the necessary credentials.
5. Specify the course of interest and submit the registration.
Upon successful registration, students gain access to 10 audio-video spoken tutorials. Notably, the course is endorsed by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). Prospective participants should take note of essential requirements for the course, including ensuring that their laptop meets the specified system requirements outlined on developer.android.com/studio, having Java installed, maintaining a stable internet connection during project installation, and carefully following the steps in the tutorial “Getting started with Hello World app,” which guides the Android phone setup.
